As much as we may hate to admit it, we all love a top ten. With lucrative big money tournaments becoming ever more common in esports the race to be the best is heating up.

Now bwin has put together what it believes to be the top ten players globally. To assess this the bookmaker has created an in-depth algorithm which combines six separate criteria to determine the world’s top players. The bookie had some help from the go to data site www.esportsearnings.com.

The six criteria are Total Prize Money, Biggest Single Payday, Tournament Wins, Tournament Pay, Win % and Twitter Followers.

According to the algorithm the top player at present is Clement ‘Puppey’ Ivanov, a Dota 2 player from Estonia who is also one of the founders of Team Secret. With an impressive 226,000 Twitter followers and career earnings of $1.3m, as well as 36 recorded tournament wins he took first place ahead of US Dota 2 player Peter ‘PPD’ Dager.
