Esports expects the Spanish Inquisition courtesy of La Liga

A total of six La Liga sides are expected to announce their entries into esports at Barcelona Games World after a tweet from each club’s official channel teased their plans. 

Real Sociedad, Sevilla Fútbol Club, Villarreal CF, Real Zaragoza, Real Aviles C.F., and Real Sporting de Gijón all stated that they have plans in esports coming soon but little else was revealed. 

Vandal Sports reported back in July that an LFP esports league is on the cards with a launch date of mid to late 2017. The LFP is an association for La Liga and the Spanish second flight too.  Valencia C.F. already have an esports component, whilst Real Madrid were invited to the FIFA Interactive World Cup 2017 for its club section. 

It’s looking like FIFA 17 will be the entry point for some at least with Villarreal tweeting out the following…

Barcelona Games World got underway on October 6th and will go on until the 9th. We’ll have more information as and when it’s announced.
