ArcaneBet has become the latest bookmaker and esports organisation to join the Esports Integrity Coalition (ESIC) ranks.

ArcaneBet is one of the newer esports focused sports betting operators, but has made its intentions clear by signing a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with ESIC. Other members include the likes of Betway, Unikrn, SkyBet, Pinnacle, the MGA, the Uk Gambling Commission and more. There are also major esports bodies from outside of betting such as ESL, DreamHack , Intel, ICSS amongst plenty of others. The not-for-profit organisation is amongst the most active regulatory esports authorities and has the goal of ‘creating a level, above board playing field for all members of the industry’.

Tim Hurks, CEO of ArcaneBet, noted: “The signing of this MoU was a natural progression for us. ESIC represents a healthy shift towards legitimizing what for a long time has been a very grey space within the industry, and being part of that is important for us.”

Expanding on why they decided to sign the agreement with ESIC, Hurks explained: “Not only do we want to create a safe space for our customers to bet on esports matches, we also want to ensure that going forward we can help build bridges between the gambling industry and the esports industry.

“Gambling within esports has been given a negative stigma, and we want to work alongside the other players in our industry to remove this stigma.”

Ian Smith, the ESIC Integrity Commissioner, said of the news: “It’s great to welcome another specialist esports betting operator into membership of ESIC – it extends the reach of our suspicious bet alert network.

“And having a legitimate, licensed operator that supports esports integrity and our vital education programme helps lessen the influence of illegal operators and betting fraudsters.”

Esports Insider says: ESIC is strengthened with yet another betting partner bolstering its ranks. Props to ArcaneBet, a newer entrant to the esports betting market, for quickly realising the important work that ESIC do and getting involved accordingly. Doubtless we’ll hear more from them in the future.
