Spacestation Gaming announces Uber Eats sponsorship

Spacestation Gaming has brought on food delivery service Uber Eats as a sponsor. While Uber Eats will be featured on the organisation’s website and team jerseys, the two parties will also work together to create content around the brand.

Spacestation Gaming is a North American esports organisation started by popular Snapchatter and YouTuber Shaun “Shonduras” McBride in 2017 after purchasing a SMITE team. SSG currently holds teams in Fortnite, PUBG, Brawhalla, Paladins, Rainbow Six: Seige, Rocket League and Battlerite which just won the first season of the Battlerite Pro League.

Uber Eats is an extension of the ride-sharing app that provides food delivery service from restaurants that typically don’t offer delivery. While this is seemingly the first esports sponsorship for Uber Eats, the company has recently sponsored popular streamer Tyler “Ninja” Blevins earlier this month.

Shawn Pellerin, Head of Operations for Spacestation Gaming commented: “This sponsorship is unique from other sponsors and what we are most excited about is the interactive content concepts and ideas that we will be putting out. Uber Eats is the most convenient way to order food. Whenever we attend LAN events, we have always used the service extensively as players and management. It only made sense for us to partner with something we love and use so much.”

Fellow sponsors for Spacestation include headset peripheral HyperX, computer monitor providers Pixio, gaming chair company Vertagear and photo and video equipment store B&H. Spacestation also recently penned a major deal with NBA team Utah Jazz as the organisation’s official esports partner as both organisations are based in Utah.

Esports Insider says: Continued non-endemic sponsors are always a welcome sight to see. Spacestation Gaming excels at unique content creation as we can see in the announcement video and considering the background of Shonduras so it will be interesting to see the further collaborations and shenanigans that come out of this partnership.
