TalkTalk becomes presenting partner of AVFC Gaming

TalkTalk, the UK based Telecommunication company has become the presenting partner of AVFC Gaming after signing a multi-year deal with Aston Villa F.C.

AVFC Gaming was announced back in May as a combined effort between Aston Villa and the European Gaming League (EGL). TalkTalk is now joining the tournament as the presenting partner. AVFC Gaming is a FIFA tournament where players are competing for Pro Points and prizes.

At the time of the announcement, Will Radford, Head of Digital Media and Content, Aston Villa FC, said: “We want to be able to reward the Villa faithful in their social lives and our partnership with the European Gaming League allows to do this in a way no other club has.”

This new partnership is taking the Aston Villa fan experience to the next level. TalkTalk is rewarding the fans with club-related prizes like invitations to exclusive events and experiences.

Luke Organ, Chief Commercial Officer at Aston Villa said: “This partnership is a positive step in the club’s growth and development and an exciting opportunity to work with a brand that shares our core values. We will be working collaboratively to create and implement innovative campaigns that harness the passion of the club and connect with our fans and TalkTalk customers.”

The deal includes YouTube content and the ‘TalkInterview’ series that will feature staff and players from the team.

Telecommunication companies are making big moves in order to join the esports industry. Back in May, T-Mobile announced a partnership with OpTic Gaming owned Overwatch League team Houston Outlaws

Esports Insider says: Aston Villa is one step ahead of the competition. This is the perfect deal for their venture, especially considering that esports and telecom companies are proven to work well together. One clear example, SK Telecom and its League of Legends team in South Korea.
