Betting website Buff88 has announced exclusive parameters for betting on Dota 2 matches played during The International 8 in Vancouver next week.
Bettors can wager on markets like most last hits, most kill creeps, most denies in the map, as well as most bounty runes. They can also pick larger odds like the outright winner of the tournament, which heroes will be picked or banned the most, and highest player net worth.
The announcement also states the top three teams with the most likely chance of winning according to odds right now are Virtus.pro, Team Liquid, and PSG.LGD with Virtus.pro leading with a 4/1 odds. Team Liquid will be defending its championship from winning TI7 whereas Virtus.pro has never won TI or gotten above 5th/6th place. LGD has never won TI either, but if the pattern of TI winners continues this year will be won by an Eastern team.
Funny enough, bettors on Buff88 will also be able to bet on the artificial intelligence match between Elon Musk’s OpenAI and one of the top Dota 2 teams.
Buff88 is the creation of UltraPlay which recently introduced esports cryptocurrency called eGold, being the first to implement it into esports betting. Buff88 also offers betting in games like CS:GO, Heroes of the Storm, League of Legends, Overwatch, and even Fortnite.
Esports Insider says: Blockchain, cryptocurrency, betting: all terms being thrown around in the esports space right now. UltraPlay and Buff88 have been one of many companies on the forefront of esports betting. As the service offers betting in a wide array of games along with taking bets on exclusive and unique parameters other don’t offer makes it more appealing to join in on. The International is one of the biggest esports events of the year in the world so if there was any good tournament to release this on, it’s the TI.
