HellRaisers announces 1xBet as new title sponsor

It was announced last week that the team HellRaisers is partnering up with 1xBet. The organisation introduced its new title sponsor via a press release.

1xBet was originally focused on traditional sports, but fairly recently, the company started its transition into esports.

The platform now offers the opportunity to bet across different esports titles, including the Big Three of Counter-Strike: Global Offensive, League of Legends, and Dota 2. 1xBet Esports also covers news and matches results, with the content shared through social media.

Aleksey “xaoc” Kucherov, CEO at HellRaisers said: “I’m glad to announce the beginning of our cooperation with one of the largest betting companies in the world, 1хBet! Its integrity and experience in traditional sports will help fans of esports use their service in the most convenient way possible.  I’m sure that we’ll have a long and fruitful partnership, as well as some very interesting activities for fans of esports.”

On Twitter, 1xBet Esports wrote: “HellRaisers is a well-known brand in the CS:GO scene which is proved with great results on competitive scene and we are proud to become a title sponsor with such developed project!”

This new sponsorship continues the conversation about betting companies getting involved more frequently in esports. Some developers remain stand-offish to put it lightly, but regardless, we now have the likes of Betway sponsoring NiP and MiBR, GG.Bet with Na’Vi and others, Parimatch with Virtus Pro, ESP with G2, PENTA with sunmaker and more.

With the US gradually opening up to regulated betting post-PASPA, we can expect many more deals of this ilk too. Recently we saw the likes of Richard Lewis pen an agreement with Rivalry.gg, and it’s sponsorships such as this which will see esports betting more discussed by fans of different esports titles. When it comes to bookmaker and esports organisation sponsorships, if executed properly, and partnerships are signed by fully regulated bookmakers, then it’s a legitimate and solid source of revenue for these companies as it is across football and other sports. It is however, imperative that it is executed properly, for the benefit of all involved, no less the long term health of the esports industry at large.

Esports Insider says: Whilst no figures have been disclosed the 1xBet sponsorship shows that the company believes in the potential of this sector, and, seemingly, the team’s potential. HellRaisers recently finished fifth at the Intel Extreme Masters XIII in Shanghai. The team returns to the action on August 29th at the DreamHack Masters Stockholm 2018.
