Richard Lewis partners with Rivalry.gg

Rivalry.gg has announced a partnership with veteran esports journalist, tournament host and analyst Richard Lewis.

This new partnership, facilitated by IMG, is said to represent both parties shared goal to ‘promote the importance of responsible and safe betting in esports’

Kevin Wimer, co-founder of Rivalry.gg commented: “Our partnership with Richard Lewis represents our commitment to supporting stalwart members of the esports community who have actively worked to end the unregulated and often predatory betting on esports. We believe Richard more than anyone has worked to uncover and expose the harm done by these sites.”

Rivalry.gg launched in early 2018 and is licenced as a dedicated esports sportsbook by the Isle of Man Gambling Supervision Commission.

Wimer added, “Starting today the community can expect to see exciting original content and monthly events around Richard and the Rivalry brand. We can’t wait to share what’s in store and are excited for the memes and seeing everyone on the battleground on Twitter.”

Richard Lewis currently hosts a weekly Counter-Strike Podcast with fellow host Duncan “Thorin” Shields and producer Sam Davies called ‘Return of By The Numbers’

Richard Lewis commented on the partnership: “It’s great to be working in partnership with a company that understands the benefits that legitimate gambling companies bring to the esports space while also being committed to the responsibilities that so many other platforms have ignored. After years of being dedicated to helping esports grow I look forward to helping promote a brand that I truly believe will establish themselves as an industry leader when it comes to responsible betting.”

Esports Insider says: Richard is a divisive figure in esports, like anyone who chooses to speak out about or against the status quo of the scene. He’s not one to shy away from the amount of toxic tirades he receives across multiple channels on a regular basis, often highlighting the abuse on Twitter, however, Richard is still a figure that people respect in esports, which is why partnering with Rivalry.gg will add valuable credibility to the Rivalry brand, not only for those who follow Richard Lewis but those who air on the side of caution with companies with whom they have never interacted with before.
