AFC Ajax‘s esports division has entered partnership with Europe-focused media and tech company Azerion.
The agreement will last for “at least three seasons” and concerns the development of a mobile gaming strategy.
Ajax eSports is a division of AFC Ajax whose team competes at the top tier of Dutch football. Its esports efforts includes a roster of six FIFA players.
Menno Geelen, Commercial Director of AFC Ajax commented on the partnership in a release: “Azerion and Ajax Esports have the same ambition: taking over the world with their propositions. This mutual ambition makes for a strong match between the two brands. Their insights have already helped us significantly. We look forward to going on this adventure together.”
Azerion is a media and tech company which helps advertisers and publisher in better targeting their audience. Its name will be displayed during Ajax’s matches, in exchange for its expertise in advertising, focusing on the club’s Ajax Gaming Academy mobile application, which is said to be launching soon.
In February, Ajax eSports entered a long-term partnership with energy drink brand ICONIX. It’s also partnered with the likes of Plantronics, Playseat, Subway, 433, PayPal, ABN AMRO, Ziggo, and Adidas.
Esports Insider says: It’s nice to see the football club AFC Ajax begin the new FIFA season with a new partnership for its esports division. It seems as if it’ll last for years to come too, which shows some dedication from both parties.
