As part of the alliance, dedicated scouting tournaments across a number of titles will take place. The first of which is the Big Time College Tournament for VALORANT with gaming peripherals manufacturer Corsair named as a presenting partner.

Andrew Bouley, Managing Director at Aquatik Esports, commented on the creation of the alliance in a release: “Our feeder initiative and our ‘Big Time College Tournament’ emphasises Aquatik’s core mantra to bring ‘Esports to Everyone’. The specific need for these core concepts within the esports ecosphere has been demonstrated by our rapid and sustainable growth.

“Regardless if someone is a beginner, a student, or has been grinding for years, Aquatik has a programme to help them achieve their esports goals both on a professional and personal level. We have exciting plans on how we will continue to evolve these programmes and initiatives over the next year.”

The Big Time College Tournament begins on January 8th and will see a total of 13 schools fielding teams for a chance to win the lion’s share of $6,000 (£4379.16) in prize money.

Since launching in March 2020, Aquatik Esports has added four partners to its roster, including computer gaming brand AORUS and gaming peripherals manufacturer Razer. Additionally in December last year, the organisation secured the services of former Game Informer Associate Publisher, Rob Borm, as its Vice President of Sales and Sponsorships.

Esports Insider says: Providing a dedicated platform for organisations to cultivate and develop new talent is certainly a positive. It will be interesting to see how the alliance benefits everyone involved as more organisations join the platform throughout the year.
