KJC eSports announces SEA VALORANT Invitational

Southeast Asian VALORANT esports content hub KJC eSports has launched a $5,000 (~£3,652) tournament featuring 18 teams across the region.

The KJC eSports VALORANT Invitational, which has been officially approved by Riot Games, will run from September 30th to October 10th.

In addition, AI performance platform Aim Lab and Gaming chair manufacturer Vertagear have been announced as sponsors for the event.

According to the release, the tournament aims to develop SEA by way of competition. This is expected to help the respective organisations discover its roster’s potential. Some notable names included in the invitational include VCT Masters: Berlin representative Paper Rex, Alter Ego, Cerberus Esports, and Team Secret.

Jeffrey Choi, the Founder of KJC eSports, commented: “There is so much talent in Southeast Asia, it is our job at KJC eSports to showcase the top of the top teams in the region.”

The $5,000 will be split between three teams. First will receive $3,000 (~£2,191), while second and third will be rewarded with $1,500 (~£1,095) and $500 (~£365), respectively. KJC eSports’s tournament will feature a group stage and playoffs. The firm has revealed that both Team Secret and Paper Rex will be immediately seeded into the playoffs.

The full list of teams competing are: Five Ace Esports, Griffin E-sports, Alter Ego, Onic Esports, Morph Impact, Paper Rex, UwU, Louvre, Kingsmen, Team Secret, SV Empire, Nigma Galaxy, Oasis Gaming, Sharper Esport, Foxy Araikordai, The Infinity Esports, Cerberus Esports, Ego.

Esports Insider says: The KJC eSports VALORANT Invitational will hopefully continue to showcase SEA’s VALORANT scene as the region looks to continue its development and growth within the title. Having organisation’s such as Paper Rex and Team Secret involved should also help the tournament attract regional viewers.
