According to the release, the two entities aim to create a dialogue around financial literacy and cryptocurrency within the esports community. Both entities are expected to accomplish this through social media activations and content.

Jack Etienne, Co-Founder and CEO of Cloud9, commented: “Blockchain.com is the perfect partner for the Cloud9 team. Our team takes great pride in working closely with the most noteworthy leaders across industries and the time was ripe to broaden our network to the cryptocurrency world.

“Blockchain.com’s support will ensure consumers have greater access to, and understanding of, the future of finance through cryptocurrency.”

Cloud9 boasts a roster of partners that includes the likes of Microsoft, HyperX and BMW, among others. Last year, the organisation teamed up with IMPS – the license holder for the Smurfs franchise – to create an apparel collection influenced by the term ‘smurfing’.

Blockchain.com was an early adopter within the bitcoin community, emerging in the sector in 2011. Since then it has gained the support of investors such as Baillie Gifford, VY Capital and others. The company has been named Cloud9’s official cryptocurrency exchange and wallet partner.

Esports Insider says: Cloud9’s deal with Blockchain.com sees the organisation become the latest name to enter the cryptocurrency world. The partnership with Blockchain.com is set to provide financial support, as well as educate Cloud9’s teams and fans about cryptocurrencies.
