The Esports World Cup Foundation (EWCF) has announced smartphone brand HONOR as the Official Smartphone Partner for the Esports World Cup 2025.
The two parties have renewed the partnership following last year’s inaugural collaboration, using HONOR Magic7 Pro as the smartphone for EWC’s mobile esports competitions. This includes events for Honor of Kings (HoK), PUBG: Mobile, Mobile Legends: Bang Bang and Free Fire.
According to a release, the new partnership will see the players use HONOR’s AI-enabled technology to optimise the performance of the devices, ranging from graphics to system and power management.
Initially a subsidiary of the telecommunications company Huawei, the HONOR smartphone brand was acquired in 2020 by Shenzhen Zhixin New Information Technology, an enterprise controlled by the Shenzhen Government. In addition to smartphones, the company is known for developing PCs, tablet computers, wearable devices, and mobile device software.
HONOR has had a long-standing presence in the gaming and esports industry, especially in markets where mobile esports is thriving, such as China. At the end of 2024, the company had partnered up with HoK esports player Yinuo on the launch of the new Honor GT phone line.
The smartphone brand is the latest partner to be announced ahead of the start of the Esports World Cup next week, which counts on the support of global brands such as Pepsico, Lenovo Legion, Saudi Telecom Company (stc Group), Amazon Ads, OBSBOT, Sony, among others.
Dr. Rui Guo, Group CMO of HONOR Device Co., Ltd, commented on the partnership. “HONOR is very pleased to join forces with the Esports World Cup and provide the official smartphone for its mobile competitions.
“As a brand dedicated to its consumers, HONOR strives to offer products that provide a superior experience and elevated performance, particularly among gamers. Our technology enables players to push their limits and achieve new heights in their gaming journey.”
