Sim racing platform iRacing has opened trials for the latest round of the eNASCAR College iRacing Series.
The qualifiers, taking place from February 24th to March 5th, will see the fastest sim racers from North American colleges and universities secure a place on the starting grid.
Registrations for the qualifying time trials are open now, with drivers looking to set the fastest time around the virtual Martinsville Speedway on iRacing’s Time Attack mode. The fastest collegiate drivers will earn a place in a tournament for a chance to win a share of $60,000 (~£44,353) in year-long scholarship prizes.
The Old Dominion Classic takes place on March 18th and March 25th, with 120 students competing for a chance to earn a place in the final round. Each week, the 120 drivers are split into three groups of 40 and race across heats, last-chance qualifiers, and feature races. After two weeks, the remaining 25 drivers face off for a chance to win the tournament.
The winner of the tournament receives $3,000 (~£2,216) in prizes, while the overall champion takes home $10,000 (~£7,388).
Round five of the six-round championship marks the debut of Martinsville Speedway in the eNASCAR College iRacing Series, which enters its fourth season. Launched in 2022, the series provides a platform for sim racers to compete on a collegiate level.
NASCAR’s Commitment To Sim Racing
The eNASCAR College iRacing Series is part of NASCAR‘s long-standing relationship with iRacing, which continues to host a range of high-profile events on the platform. In February, the two parties shared details on the 17th eNASCAR Coca-Cola iRacing Series season, which features a $500,000 (~£369,502) prize pool.
Outside of its esports efforts, the motorsport series continues to utilise sim racing as a fan engagement tool. October 2025 saw the launch of the inaugural NASCAR 25 Creator Series, featuring content creators competing on the NASCAR 25 title developed by iRacing Studios.
On February 13th, the pair of Jack ‘CouRageJD’ Dunlop and Timothy ‘TimTheTatman’ Betar won the prize after scoring 46 points across the multi-race event.
