Chinese esports organisation BiliBili Gaming (BLG) has officially qualified for First Stand, the first international tournament of the League of Legends 2026 season.
After finishing second in the regular season, the 2025 LPL champions ramped up in the playoffs, taking down JD Gaming to qualify for the LPL Split 1 grand final. As a result, BLG has become the first of two LPL teams heading to First Stand.
BiliBili Gaming managed to pull off a stunning comeback against JD Gaming after going down 1-2 in the series. In particular, BLG support Luo ‘ON‘ Wen-Jun picked the first-ever Anivia support in the LPL in the decisive fifth game, flexing the pick and using it to counter the JDG’s Sivir-Renata bot lane combo.
Despite some individual mistakes, BLG was able to win key teamfights to finish the final game in less than 30 minutes, showcasing impressive performances in their victories.
With First Stand qualification locked in, BiliBili Gaming is the seventh team to qualify for the event, which will take place in São Paulo, Brazil, from March 16th to March 22nd. The organisation joins the likes of LCK Cup champion Gen.G and LEC Versus winner G2 Esports.
Rocky Start but Goal Achieved
Even though BiliBili Gaming is looking like the strongest team in the league, the team still had its fair share of troubles at the start of 2026.
Earlier in the regular season, BLG struggled to deliver consistent performances as the line-up needed time to form a suitable identity for its new ADC Park ‘Viper’ Do-Hyeon. During this period, top laner Chen ‘Bin‘ Ze-Bin also reportedly found himself in a dispute with the team’s management, which led to his temporary departure and the promotion of BLG’s academy team top laner Yang ‘Wenbo’ Wen-Bo.
Despite the hiccup, performances started to improve for BLG as the team approached playoffs, finding two clean 3-0 victories against Ninjas in Pyjamas and Weibo Gaming before the series against JD Gaming.
BiliBili Gaming will now wait for its opponent in the grand final, which will take place on Sunday, March 8th. The teams that are still in contention are Weibo Gaming, Anyone’s Legend, and JD Gaming.
