Australian esports organisation The Chiefs Esports Club has announced a partnership with McDonald’s Australia, more commonly known in the region as Macca’s.

As part of the deal, both parties will work together to launch a series of educational live streams featuring League of Legends streamer Drew ‘Midbeast’ Timbs and LCO interviewer Athena ‘kiittwy’ Jiang.

Other talent joining the show includes the Chiefs’ Aiden ‘Ayekay’ Hiko and former professional rugby league footballer Alex Glenn. In addition, the four-hour stream will include a live tour of the Chiefs Country Club.

Fans across the region who tune in to the streams will be able to win a wide range of prizes, including exclusive Maccas x Chiefs gear which will be revealed on the day the show begins (August 21st).

McDonald’s has been building its global esports presence for some time now. A few months ago the fast food chain teamed up with Nicecactus to deliver a series of FIFA22 tournaments to six countries in the MENA region.

On the other hand, the Australian esports organisation recently struck a two-year deal with shopping centre company Westfield to collaborate on a range of activations. Macca’s becomes the sixth partner of the organisation, joining the likes of Westfield, battery manufacturer Energizer, gaming chair firm AndaSeat and skincare brand L’Oréal Paris Men Expert.

Nick Bobir, CEO of The Chiefs, spoke on the partnership: “We worked with Macca’s earlier in the year on their first stream week, so we are super excited to be back working with such a legendary partner again.

“Plus, having the opportunity to bring incredible talent like Kitty and Midbeast together and have them streaming live from the house is an awesome opportunity. I’m excited to see how they stack up against our League of Legends roster.”
