- ESI Forum Series
Where: Fnatic Bunkr, London
When: July through October 2017 (Four separate events)
The ESI Forum Series saw our first industry events; these were evening affairs hosted at the Fnatic Bunkr in Shoreditch, East London.
There was a different topic up for discussion each time, including the apparel opportunity in esports, why sports clubs are getting involved and more, with a different specialised panel each time debating the topic of the day with audience questions at the end.
There was also plenty of great pizza, drinks and more for attendees, as well as a tournament for them to get involved in. We partnered with charities including SpecialEffect and Movember for the Forum Series.
- Betting on Esports 2017
Where: Olympia London, London
When: 13-15th September, 2017
Betting on Esports Conference formed a part of the wider SBC Global Betting on Sports 2017 Conference which saw a total of 1,400 in attendance. Betting on Esports meanwhile saw 25+ speakers, six exhibitors, six sessions and networking parties each evening.
- ESI Super Forum
Where: Stamford Bridge, London
When: March 22nd, 2018
The one day conference, which focused on the crossover of esports and sports, saw over 250 attendees, with seven panels (including one keynote session) and speakers of a notably high calibre.
These included James Dean, MD of ESL UK, Michael ‘ODEE’ O’Dell, the GM of Dignitas, Mark Cox, UK Head of Publishing at Riot Games, Ruud Gullit, Jakob Lund, Founder and SVP Sales at RFRSH, Seb Carmichael-Brown, Commercial Director at Hashtag United, Nicolas Maurer, CEO at Team Vitality and plenty more.
- ESI Birmingham
Where: Arena Birmingham
When: 24th May 2018
This event acted as a perfect introduction to the industry and as a pre-cursor to ESL One Birmingham, the fastest selling Dota 2 Major. It was hosted with support from ESL UK, Intel, PwC, and the NEC Group.
With over 160 in attendance, including major brands (both endemic and non), esports stakeholders such as teams and leagues, tech companies, agencies, medias, professional service providers and more, it was a productive day for all involved. It featured extensive networking opportunities, alongside a thorough selection of deep dives into debate worth topics within and around the esports industry. It also ended in an official after-party courtesy of the Rank Group and Grosvenor Casino.
All attendees received VIP passes to ESL One Birmingham.
- ESI London
Where: Olympia London, London
When: 18-20th September
ESI London was a three day esports business conference focused on building a bridge between expertise and interest, and explaining esports from the inside out.
The event saw a total of 19 sessions, over 60 speakers, more than 320 attendees and three networking parties. A full day of esports focused workshops and debates covered day one, whilst day two boasted a comprehensive betting on esports track.
There were also 10 exhibitors, a press and media zone, ample spaces for meetings and networking, and plenty more.
The closing party at the Natural History Museum also included the inaugural Esports Insider Hall of Fame. Find out more about this here.
