Indian esports organisation Orangutan Esports has named sportswear brand PUMA as its Official Kit Partner.

As a result, Orangutan Esports will wear a jersey and merchandise range created exclusively by the Indian branch of PUMA.

In recent months, Orangutan Esports has expanded its partnership portfolio. In addition to PUMA, it secured a deal with Indian real estate company Raiaskaran to collaborate on social media campaigns and in-person events for fans.

The deal isn’t the first for PUMA in the Indian market. The brand partnered with Revenant Esports in October 2022 in a bid to promote it to younger audiences in the region.

Orangutan Esports fields rosters in Battlegrounds Mobile India (BGMI), Free Fire, VALORANT, and Pokémon Unite. The organisation was founded in 2021 and has since established itself as one of India’s more prominent organisations.

With Orangutan Esports continuing to grow at an impressive rate, the Indian esports market is also expanding. After disappearing for nearly a year, developer KRAFTON announced the return of BGMI to the Indian market following its removal, allegedly due to its ties with Chinese conglomerate Tencent.

Yash Bhanushali, founder of Orangutan Esports, spoke on the deal: “I am thrilled to announce our partnership with Puma India as our official kit partner, marking a major breakthrough for Indian esports. This collaboration will transform the industry, inspiring the next generation and fostering a community of excellence.

“With Puma’s support, our players will have top-quality gear, empowering them to compete globally with unmatched confidence. I am immensely grateful to Puma India for believing in our vision and commitment to the growth of esports. Together, we will redefine the esports landscape and make history”
