Turner<\/strong> and IMG<\/strong>‘s esports tournament brand ELEAGUE<\/strong> has announced a renewed partnership with Psyonix<\/strong> to launch\u00a0The ELEAGUE CUP: Rocket League 2018<\/strong>.<\/span><\/p>\n

The event will see eight Rocket League teams battle it out over November 30th to December 2nd, with $150,000 (\u00a3114,087) up for grabs. It’ll take place at the ELEAGUE Arena in Atlanta.<\/span><\/p>\n

ELEAGUE will also create a series of episodes based on the event – including highlights and storylines – that will air on TBS<\/strong> on December 7th, 14th, 21st, and 28th.<\/span><\/p>\n

The Cup will see the eight teams split into two four-team groups with a double-elimination bracket. The top two teams for each group will advance to the playoffs, which itself will be single-elimination.<\/span><\/p>\n

This isn’t the first time that ELEAGUE has dealt in Rocket League. The first event it held for the popular title was the\u00a0ELEAGUE Cup: Rocket League, it too had eight teams competing for\u00a0$150,000 (\u00a3114,087) at the company’s Arena in Atlanta. G2 Esports claimed the top spot and $70,000 (\u00a353,246.55).<\/span><\/p>\n

ELEAGUE recently made its debut in Call of Duty by hosting a charity event on Black Ops 4’s Battle Royale mode, Blackout. The ELEAGUE CODNATION Challenge for Vets<\/a> was hosted on October 13th, with professional players and personalities taking part to raise money for the Call of Duty Endowment initiative. More recently, it partnered with Riot Games<\/a> to create a one-hour televised feature show.<\/span><\/p>\n

Teams and talent that will attend the Rocket League event will be announced in the coming weeks.<\/span><\/p>\n

Esports Insider says: ELEAGUE is known for creating good events and, for many, Rocket League is one of the more fun esports titles to watch. With these things in mind, it’s not a stretch to expect this Cup to be a solid event. It’s good to see the tournament organiser embracing titles outside the “big three”, too.\u00a0<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n
