ELEAGUE<\/strong>\u00a0and Xbox<\/strong> have announced a partnership that will highlight the\u00a0Gears of War\u00a0<\/strong>esports scene ahead of the\u00a0release of\u00a0Gears 5\u00a0later this year.<\/span><\/p>\n

We’ll be getting ELEAGUE Gears of War coverage in late 2019<\/span><\/figcaption><\/figure>\n

ELEAGUE will produce six, hour-long feature episodes providing backstage access of professional\u00a0Gears of War\u00a0competitions, including an in-depth look into the lives of star players as they train and perform around the world. The series called “ELEAGUE Gears Summer Series: The Bonds and Betrayals of Brotherhood” will debut with the first episode on Friday\u00a014th June on TBS.<\/span><\/p>\n

Craig Barry, Chief Content Office for Turner Sports<\/strong> told Reuters<\/a>: \u201cThe audience is the most coveted demographic in the media landscape. We know they\u2019re out there, we know they\u2019re engaged. No one\u2019s really cracked the code yet.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n

In addition to the series, ELEAGUE will officially reveal new\u00a0Gears 5\u00a0multiplayer gameplay when it hosts the title\u2019s first-ever esports tournament. The tournament\u00a0will\u00a0feature eight of the world\u2019s top teams competing live at the ELEAGUE Arena at Turner Studios<\/strong> in Atlanta. Teams and more details on the tournament format are set to be unveiled in the upcoming months.\u00a0The final two episodes of the TBS series will showcase all the backstage action and key moments from the live tournament.<\/span><\/p>\n

All the tournament action will kick off on July 13-14, with live coverage available on\u00a0Twitch\u00a0and live sports streaming service\u00a0B\/R Live.<\/span><\/p>\n

In February\u00a0ELEAGUE\u00a0entered a content, business and event partnership with Rocket League\u00a0developer\u00a0Psyonix<\/a><\/strong>.\u00a0The deal includes the production of a series of episodes that focus on Seasons 7 and 8 of the Rocket League Championship Series (RLCS).\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n
