TeamSoloMid‘s Fortnite roster – who recently moved into a team house together – have announced a brand new partnership with American fast food chain Chipotle.
Announcing the news in a humorous video, TSM’s Fortnite squad blindly tested a number of Chipotle dishes before revealing it’s the sponsor for the 2018 season. The players have received a Chipotle Celebrity Card that gifts them free, unlimited Chipotle for the year.
Andy Dinh, CEO of Team SoloMid stated: “I’m really excited for this opportunity because TSM gets to represent a brand like Chipotle that we really believe in. I love Chipotle – I eat there every week if not a multiple times a week – and our players do too. It’s a privilege to partner with an amazing brand that’s leading my generation to better eating habits. I can’t wait to see what TSM and Chipotle can achieve together.”
The partnership will see the organisation and fast food chain work together on content, including stream exposure and “some exciting surprises for fans”.
Chris Brandt, Chief Marketing Officer at Chipotle added: “Having kept a close eye on the rise of Fortnite as a phenomenon that so many of our customers love, Chipotle is excited to embark on this unique partnership with some of the game’s most notable, dynamic personalities, who are also Chipotle fans.”
Esports Insider says: So far, the team house for Team SoloMid’s Fortnite roster has produced some rather enjoyable content so it’s a great time for sponsors to get involved. This isn’t Chipotle’s first foray into esports – having worked with the likes of OpTic Gaming in the past – so it’s good to see it stay in the industry.
