Cloud9 have signed an all-Brazilian outfit for their second Apex Legends squad. The organisation announced the signing on Twitter as the first Brazilian squad in the history of Cloud9.

The squad includes Gabriel “isno” Ceregatto, Nino “ninexT” Pavolini, and Vinícius “noted” Mancinni. All three players bring a mixture of competitive experience in other games, including Rainbow Six and Overwatch. Notably, “ninexT” appears to be the only player with prior competitive battle royale experience, having represented Luminosity Gaming Brazil in PUBG last year.

It will be Cloud9’s second Apex Legends side, after the signing of an all-American roster last month. The move comes as  they continue to expand their presence in Brazil, including the signing of Brazilian streamer Flávio “Jukes” Fernandes as the substitute top laner for their League of Legends side.

Several organisations have now signed players to their Apex Legends roster, including the likes of 100 Thieves, Natus Vincere, Team Liquid, NRG Esports, Rogue, Fnatic and TSM.

Esports Insider says:  It is interesting that Cloud9 would make the move into South American market so early, especially since we have seen Apex Legends struggle to shake off its ‘flavour of the month’ status. If Apex does maintain strong popularity on Twitch then getting into some of the best Brazilian players early could turn out to be a brilliant move from C9.
