The reigning world champions will be looking to hold onto their title when the event kicks off later this month in Shanghai. The prize pool for TI9 is the largest of any single event in esports history after it surpassed $30 million (£24 million) last month.

Ehtisham Rabbani, CEO of SteelSeries commented on the partnership in an announcement: “OG is one of the biggest names in esports and an ever-present dominant force within the Dota 2 community. We’re proud to be working with them and providing the tools that they need to continue winning at the highest level.”

In 2017, OG announced that Red Bull would become the team’s lead sponsor and was subsequently added to their official logo. OG also holds partnerships with blockchain voting platform Socios.com and We Are Nations, who handles the team’s merchandise.

Johan “N0tail” Sundstein, CEO and Captrain of OG also discussed the deal: “It’s a pleasure to once again be working with SteelSeries, their products have been part of my entire life. This is an exciting chapter for us and I’m expecting great things.”

SteelSeries is currently partnered with the likes of Swedish football club Östersunds FK’s esports division, FaZe Clan, North, and Cavs Legion GC.

Esports Insider says: SteelSeries is slowly becoming a better-known brand within the esports world through deals with prominent teams and organisations such as OG. With all eyes on the defending champions heading into The International 2019, this announcement has come at a great time.
