Gaming peripherals brand Logitech G has partnered with 22-year old NASCAR driver and iRacing team owner William Byron.
As part of the deal, Bryon will work exclusively with Logitech G in an effort to promote the simulation racing scene.

Vincent Borel, General Manager of Logitech G, discussed the partnership in a release: “It was clear from the start that we both want to see the sport of eracing grow and encourage more people to race. Today sim racing democratizes motorsports like never before. We are thrilled to partner with William and his iRacing team and look forward to working together on building and growing the sport of eracing.”
Byron will be the official ambassador for Logitech G’s sim racing efforts. The peripherals brand will act as the exclusive title sponsor of the William Byron eSports sim racing team, planting its logo on the front of Nick Ottinger’s car throughout the 2020 eNASCAR iRacing Series season.

Byron also commented on the deal: “Every young driver is a gamer at heart, for me it started when I was a kid racing in my bedroom using Logitech G’s steering wheels. For me, playing games in my room and then going on to compete on the iRacing circuit played a key role in becoming the racer I am today, and it continues to evolve into an integral part of the work we do today.
“Now starting my own team and working with Logitech G to make it happen, is a dream come true. This is a great way for me to give back to a community that helped to launch my own career. Logitech G is the perfect partner, as we both share the same passion for racing and innovation. Most importantly we’re both invested in the future of eracing. Together we’re going to inspire others to follow their passion for racing.”
Esports Insider says: This is a logical move from Logitech G given its previous involvement in sim racing with G2 Esports. We’re looking for plenty of activations between the two parties throughout the 2020 season but we’re not certain as to whether that’ll materialise or not.
