Misfits Gaming Group will create 30 new jobs with the opening of its corporate headquarters, according to a release. The organisation will receive over $200,000 (£153,300) in grants and tax refunds from the local and state government to fund the facility.
Ben Spoont, CEO and Co-founder of Misfits Gaming Group, discussed the development in a release: “Thanks to the state of Florida, we’re excited to be opening our headquarters in Boca Raton next year. Boca Raton will be our base of operations for our global esports teams, as well as our 2 Florida-based franchised esports teams, the Florida Mayhem and Florida Mutineers.
“Through these local teams, we’ll be running several large-scale esports events in the state throughout the year, in addition to college tournaments and community events. It’s our goal to help grow the esports and gaming communities in Florida. We want to provide a platform for gamers to connect with each other, and give young professionals a path into the industry.”

Esports Insider says: We’ve seen Complexity Gaming’s GameStop Performance Center and 100 Thieves’ Cash App Compound become huge hits with esports fans and industry professionals alike, Misfits Gaming Group will be looking to make a similar splash here. Something that’s lost with some people among the glitz and glamour, however, is how effective such facilities can be for general day-to-day operations.
