European esports organisation Team Secret has announced a long-term partnership with cryptocurrency exchange company Uniswap Labs.
The partnership will see Team Secret develop exclusive content and esports activations for the Uniswap protocol. According to the release, this will include ‘future technology launches and other projects under the Uniswap Grants programme’.

Uniswap Labs is responsible for the development of The Uniswap protocol, The Uniswap Interface, and Uniswap Governance, operating on the Ethereum blockchain.
A goal of the partnership will be to improve the reach of Uniswap Labs’s message, which is to drive awareness, understanding, and adoption of crypto technologies further into mainstream and digital-native audiences.
John Yao, Team Secret CEO, commented, “Uniswap Labs embodies our vision for the future of crypto and blockchain technology. They are truly developing assets that will help advance the digital assets space, and we are proud to be working with the Grants programme to bring their impact into gaming and esports.
“We look forward to working with their team on future launches and accelerating adoption of other Grant projects in the works, and we are even exploring crypto as a company balance sheet asset as we ourselves get more educated through this partnership. Today is truly a momentous day for crypto and esports.”
This announcement comes less than a month after Team Secret partnered with blockchain-based gaming company, DMScript.

“The Uniswap Grants Programme is enormously excited to sponsor Team Secret, one of the world’s leading esports teams,” added Matteo Leibowitz, Strategy Lead at Uniswap Labs. “Team Secret and the Uniswap protocol both share a global presence, a digitally-native audience, and a passionate dedication to their respective crafts.
“More importantly, both parties are radically set on changing the way we think about their respective industries — sports and finance. Indeed, while this is a first-of-its-kind partnership between an esports team and a Decentralised Autonomous Organisation, we expect it will not be the last.”
Esports Insider says: Team Secret seems to be betting big on integrating blockchain companies into its partnership strategies. Perhaps this is a sign of future projects from the org or establishing a new trend of blockchain partnership categories for esports orgs. Esports orgs have been experimenting with NFTs, it wouldn’t be surprising if an esports cryptocurrency is in the works.
