Free Fire publisher Garena has announced a fantasy game based on the Liga Brasileira de Free Fire (LBFF).
According to the release, ‘FF SQUAD’ will allow fans to assemble ‘dream teams’, earning points throughout the season based on player performances. The game’s first season will commence on August 24th.
By accumulating points and climbing the rankings, fans will have the opportunity to be displayed in a separate tab on the platform, as well as on LBFF’s social media and live streams.
Players must have an active Free Fire account to be able to create a user in FF SQUAD. Once the login is created, the player will receive a number of coins to start signing players. Options to buy and sell pro players and coaches are available through its market system.
Users will also be able to create custom leagues and invite friends to compete against each other. The first season of FF SQUAD will follow the official LBFF 6 calendar, which starts on August 28th. The site is expected to be accessible from August 24th.
Esports Insider says: In Brazil, Fantasy football is are a big deal so it’s no surprise to see this feature make its way to Free Fire. The fans from LBFF will be able to create all-star teams to win points, which should add an extra layer of fan engagement. The platform should hopefully see fans become more attached to select players within the scene, alongside the league’s teams.
