San-Francisco based streaming platform Juked.GG has announced the arrival of Kevin Lin and Jon Shipman, formerly of streaming platform Twitch, as investors.
Lin and Shipman, who were both a part of Twitch’s founding team, join the company as investors and advisors to help with Juked’s growth and assist in reducing toxicity within the esports community.

The company is also aiming to reduce the chaotic and fragmented nature of esports communities and discussions.
Kevin Lin, who was the Co-founder and former COO at Twitch, has experience in partnerships, marketing, and brand development. He joins Juked as an investor and ‘mentor’.
Speaking about the opportunity, Lin commented: “Toxicity is a huge and difficult problem across the internet. I believe the future will bring platforms that support smaller communities and carefully grow up from there. Ben and Chris come directly from the esports community and I’m excited to join them in solving this important problem for esports fans.”
Shipman, meanwhile, was an early member of YouTube as well as a founding member of Twitch. He has expertise in engineering, infrastructure, and operations. Alongside his investment in the platform, he will join Juked’s advisory board and work closely with the product and engineering team.
Shipman added: “I have always felt esports, from a fan perspective, is disjointed and missing a great community destination focused on fandom and meaningful social interactions and am excited to join the Juked in creating a solution for all esports fans.”
Esports Insider says: Juked have big goals and investment from two former Twitch founders is nothing but a good sign. The funding and expertise that Lin and Shipman bring will be invaluable in accelerating the platform’s growth and brand strategy.
