Esports tournament organiser ESL Gaming has secured a partnership with Australian NFT business platform Immutable X.
As a result of the deal, the tournament organiser will introduce an NFT platform that enables fans and supporters to buy, sell and exchange ESL Pro Tour NFT assets.

In particular, the partnership is said to put an emphasis on providing ESL with a scaling infrastructure.
According to the release, fans of the ESL Pro Tour will be able to mint and exchange NFTs through Immutable X in a reportedly ‘secure, carbon-neutral and gas free way’. ‘Gas’ refers to costs associated with ‘minting’ or creating NFTs.
Bernhard Mogk, SVP Global Business Development at ESL Gaming, commented: “The Immutable team has gaming in their DNA and we share the same vision for the future of NFTs. In combination with a deep passion for the community, this is the only way to forge meaningful innovation in the space.
“We could not be more excited to launch on Immutable X, the best possible community-driven and fan-centric collectible platform to buy, collect and own some of the most memorable moments in ESL Pro Tour history.”
Developed in April 2021, Immutable X looks to provide growth opportunities for users and developers. This includes providing instant trade confirmation, scalability, and zero gas fees with a carbon-neutral platform for securing digital assets on the Ethereum blockchain.
This isn’t the first time that ESL has entered the NFT sector. Earlier this year, the tournament organiser introduced the IEM Cologne Pog Collection, a series of digital collectibles celebrating the history of the CS:GO event.

Robbie Ferguson, Co-founder of Immutable X, commented: “ESL’s vision for NFTs for ESL Pro Tour moments has the fans’ experience top of mind.
“At Immutable X, we make it easy for leading gaming partners like ESL to integrate NFTs into their experiences without sacrificing security or speed. We are thrilled to partner with a leader like ESL and look forward to a great partnership in the years to come.”
The news follows from the announcement of Heroic, BIG, and Furia as the latest member teams of the ESL Pro Tour.
Esports Insider: Over the last 12 months, NFTs have quickly become integrated into the esports industry. As such, it’s no surprise to see ESL introduce an NFT platform into its ecosystem. It’ll certainly be interesting to see what NFTs are going to be developed and how popular the assets will be.
