Prior to joining BAYZ, Barbosa held the position of Head of Gaming Partnerships for Latin America at TikTok. Moreover, he was also in charge of Global Business Development for Gaming at the platform’s parent company ByteDance. There he helmed the region’s gaming vertical, securing partnerships with leading titles such as Free Fire.
Barbosa also managed to strike deals with local content creators, including Bruno ‘Nobru’ Goes, who became TikTok’s first global gaming ambassador. Moreover, Barbosa’s experience includes roles at game developer Krafton and gaming consultancy nøline.
Matt ‘MobileMatt’ Rutledge, Co-Founder of BAYZ, commented: “Gui’s expertise and knowledge of the gaming market and relationship with leading publishers and game developers are matched only by his passion for gaming and esports. We know that he will have an immediate impact on our business and expand our ability to bring play-to-earn opportunities to gamers on a global scale.”
BAYZ was founded in October 2021 by Rutledge and Borges with intentions to acquire top assets in top play-to-earn blockchain games. The organisation aims to create a community that can share revenue created in said games.
