According to the release, Herbalife Nutrition’s experts will help Gambit’s players develop individual nutrition and training programmes, as well as maintain a high level of motivation.
Herbalife Nutrition is the official sponsor of multiple high profile athletes, teams and traditional sports events. Its list of partners includes Cristiano Ronaldo, LA Galaxy and La Liga. The company is also working with the National Olympic Committees of five countries.
The dietary supplements company has been criticised in the past regarding its structure, which resulted in a $200m fine and the company changing its US business model in 2016. Herbalife also faced charges of corruption and bribery in China by US Government bodies in 2019. This was settled in court, with the company neither admitting nor denying the claims.
Konstantin Pikiner, Sports Director of Gambit Esports, commented: “Esports is growing, and so is our audience. A lot of our fans become concerned about a healthy lifestyle and proper nutrition choices. I believe it is our responsibility to make efforts to promote such values in the esports community, and Herbalife Nutrition is exactly the kind of partner we need in such an endeavour.”

Esports Insider says: Gambit Esports partnering with Herbalife Nutrition shows the organisation’s intention of promoting a healthy lifestyle to its teams and fans. The dietary supplements company has endured criticism in the past and it’ll be interesting to see how, or if, both entities approach this subject.
