As a part of the agreement, the Skyhawks will host a ‘University of West Georgia Day’ in March where students will have the opportunity to talk to executives from Hawks Galon Gaming, Atlanta Hawks, and other Hawks teams.

Janice Koon, Vice President of Operations for College Park Skyhawks and Hawks Talon Gaming, said: “We are so excited to help educate the future generations about ways that they can have a career in sports and esports. To peel back the curtain and help mould the next generation of industry professionals and leaders is something we are excited to get started on.”

In addition to events, activations, and presentations, UWG students will also get the opportunity to enrol in internships with the Hawks Talon and Skyhawks. The students will be able to learn about esports and business directly from the organisation’s executives and develop career skills.

We look forward to our students having a front-row seat to learn from two of the most sophisticated enterprises in the Atlanta metropolitan area.”

Esports Insider says: It’s a great idea to connect affiliate teams to a university because the students are very much desired both by sports and esports teams. By having an opportunity to work with the Hawks Talon Gaming, UWG students will experience esports on a professional level early in their careers.
