Swedish esports organisation Godsent has announced a partnership with Ideon Games, a CS:GO tournament tailored specifically for corporate teams.
Developed in collaboration with Swedish companies Ideon Science Park and Gigstep, the tournament will take place over the course of six weeks.
The event will eventually conclude with an offline playoff in Godsent’s hometown Malmö on October 27th. The tournament is being hosted for the third consecutive year, having previously featured teams from companies such as Axis Communications, Atea, and PWC.
According to the release, this year’s objective is to double the LAN event’s size. The corporate tournament aims to foster friendly competition by bringing together teams from different companies across Sweden.
The tournament’s first phase will be an online competition, and the highest-ranking teams will qualify for the LAN final at Malmö’s Slagthuset Venue. The final will be played in front of a live audience on top of being streamed online.
Ideon Science Park and Gigstep initially held Ideon Games exclusively for companies located within the park, but expanded to the entire region due to demand.
Ludwig Sandgren, CEO of the Godsent, commented on the partnership: “It’s a true pleasure to work together with Gigstep and Ideon Science Park to create a unique event for businesses from all over Sweden and we look forward to bringing our experience and resources into the production of the tournament.
“This will be the most fun company event ever and we are very excited about building this in our hometown Malmö.”
