The Singaporean arm of South Asian esports company NODWIN Gaming has acquired a 51% stake in Singaporean full-service live media company Branded.
Branded will now join NODWIN’s family of brands that offer full-service gaming marketing and events options to major esports companies. Terms of the deal were not disclosed.
The deal will see NODWIN acquire all of Branded’s existing event series, including ‘All That Matters’, ‘It’s a Girl Thing’ and ‘CreatorWorld’. In addition, NODWIN will expand its network of sponsors to grow revenue.
Branded helps expand NODWIN’s global reach, including launching NODWIN’s existing line of events in external markets — focusing particularly on the Middle East. The companies will also aim to co-create new intellectual properties in the Asia-Pacific region and beyond.
Branded is a live media company with its roots in events hosting and management, and has created a string of media-focused Asian event series called ‘All that Matters’ which focus on art, gaming, marketing and more.
Branded also has separate properties for female professionals, and most recently, an events platform for young influencers. Its ‘Music Matters’ series welcomed attendees from the likes of Spotify, Universal, and TikTok.
India-based NODWIN Gaming saw £16m in funding from KRAFTON in 2021 and is looking to deepen its influence in the Asia Pacific region—a hotbed of esports growth.
Blended’s acquisition by NODWIN — which has worked with major esports companies like Activision Blizzard, ESL and Red Bull — will likely come in useful as the industry sees more hybrid events that blend physical and digital experiences
Jasper Donat Co-Founder and CEO of Branded commented that his team was “excited” to join the NODWIN family and looked forward to expanding its roster of existing events across the APAC region and abroad.
“We are excited to bring Branded into our fold at NODWIN Gaming adding its multiple facets to expand and grow our ecosystem”, commented Askshat Rathee, Co-founder and Managing Director of NODWIN Gaming. “We will also look at the talented branded team taking our existing IPs such as Playground, The Premiership, NH7 and others international.”
