Enthusiast Gaming, the parent company of North American esports organisation Luminosity Gaming, has announced a partnership with furniture manufacturer Steelcase.

As the official performance seating partner of Luminosity Gaming, Steelcase will provide the organisation’s content creators and professional players with chairs to showcase the manufacturer’s product.

Moreover, Luminosity and Steelcase will create content featuring the organisation’s content creators, players and coaches. Whilst exact details of the content has not been disclosed, the announcement highlights that it aims to give fans ‘a behind-the-scenes look at how Steelcase chairs enhance their gameplay’.

Other activations such as community giveaways, sponsored livestreams and social media takeovers featuring Luminosity players were also mentioned by Enthusiast Gaming.

Founded in 1912, Steelcase has been manufacturing furniture for over a century. This also isn’t the company’s first foray into the esports sector. In 2022, Steelcase sponsored the Panda Cup last chance qualifier and finals, however, the finale of that tournament was ultimately boycotted and indefinitely postponed due to discontent with the organiser.

Steelcase has also written about esports and competitive gaming in the past, with the manufacturer highlighting the importance of player well-being through correctly optimised gaming spaces and setups.

Meanwhile, 2023 has been a busy period for Luminosity Gaming within the esports space. Alongside partnering with Steelcase, the organisation launched a new Apex Legends division with Mexican football club Chivas. Moreover, Luminosity was recently announced as the latest Brawl Stars esports partner team

Alexis Heinrich, Growth Markets Manager for Steelcase, commented on the partnership: “Luminosity is an industry pioneer that at its core, focuses on competitive excellence, and this spirit is perfectly aligned with Steelcase’s mission to help the world work better.

“This partnership allows us to tackle one of the biggest pain points for the gaming community: the literal, physical pain that can occur from prolonged sitting and technology usage. At Steelcase, our products are designed to provide premium comfort, support, and mobility.”
