The PUBG MOBILE Global Open (PMGO), the first major LAN event of the PUBG Mobile competitive season, will take place in Uzbekistan in 2025.

James Yang, Senior Director of Global Esports Center at Level Infinite, announced the tournament’s location during last week’s gamescom latam. PMGO 2025’s exact date and venue was not announced.

The PMGO was first created in 2024 as a part of changes in the popular mobile game’s esports ecosystem. The 2024 edition, held in Sao Paulo, recorded just over 510,000 peak viewers, according to Esports Charts, and was deemed a “huge success” by the game’s creators.

The 2025 edition will see the world’s best PUBG MOBILE teams travel to a somewhat unlikely place, the Central Asian country of Uzbekistan. The country has never hosted a major international esports event but does operate a regional PUBG Mobile ecosystem. This includes the Uzbekistan Cup in partnership with the Uzbekistan Cybersport Association and tournament platform BIGPLAY.GG.

PUBG MOBILE is one of the prominent mobile games featured at the Esports World Cup in Riyadh and will have a $3m prize pool for its PUBG Mobile World Cup 2024.
