T1 midlaner, Lee ‘Faker’ Sang-hyeok, has extended his contract with the organisation until 2029, making him one of the longest-active esports players of all time.
The ‘Unkillable Demon King’ will continue to play under the Korean organisation’s banner until at least the age of 33. The announcement video highlighted his incredible achievements over the course of his 11-year tenure with T1, the only team he has played for throughout his career.
“With Faker, becoming a symbol of esports beyond League of Legends, T1 is ready for another legendary chapter with him,” the team’s official X post stated.
Faker is by far one of the most successful esports players in history. He has lifted the League of Legends World Championship trophy five times already, including back-to-back victories in 2023 and 2024.
Across a range of events, he has won a total of 26 championship titles since his debut in 2013.
He was also the first player inducted into the League of Legends Hall of Legends and has seven skins dedicated to him in the game.
The player recently added another milestone to his legacy by surpassing 1,000 kills in international tournaments during the 2025 Mid-Season Invitational.
T1’s Roster After Faker’s Contract Extension
At the moment, T1’s active roster consists of six players listed below:
- Choi ‘Doran’ Hyeon-jun (Top Laner)
- Mun ‘Oner’ Hyeon-jun (Jungler)
- Lee ‘Faker’ Sang-hyeok (Mid Laner)
- Lee ‘Gumayusi’ Min-hyung (Bot Laner)
- Sin ‘Smash’ Guem-jae (Bot Laner)
- Ryu ‘Keria’ Min-seok (Support)
However, Doran and Gumayusi’s contract will be expiring in November 2025, which means the team might announce some roster changes. That said, it’s not out of the realm of possibility for T1 to announce more contract extensions.
