OpTic Gaming founder Hector ‘H3CZ‘ Rodriguez has announced an invitational Call of Duty: Modern Warfare Remastered tournament.

The four-team event featuring current and former professional Call of Duty players will take place on October 22nd.

It will see the four teams competing for a $20,000 (~£15,030) prize pool, along with some of the most recognisable names from Call of Duty esports.

Notably, the tournament will be played on Modern Warfare Remastered instead of Call of Duty: Black Ops 6, the most recent Call of Duty title used for esports competition.

    • Mason ‘Mercules‘ Ramsey

Organised in collaboration with content creator event operator iicons, the HeczQuarters Invitational is one of several tournaments that to take place during the Call of Duty esports off-season.

OpTic Texas in 2025

2025 has been a year of success for OpTic Texas, OpTic Gaming’s Call of Duty League (CDL) franchise. In June, it became CDL Champions for a second time, defending the title it won in 2024.

Following victory at Champs, the team won the Black Ops 6 event at the Esports World Cup 2025, rounding off another strong year for the Green Wall.

H3CZ hosting an off-season tournament featuring several notable names has the potential to generate solid viewing figures, along with providing fans with entertainment before attention turns to the launch of Call of Duty: Black Ops 7 on November 14th.
