The 2026 RLCS Boston Major has become the most-watched Rocket League esports event in history, surpassing the previous record set by the 2022-23 World Championship.

According to esports data platform Esports Charts, the tournament hit a peak viewership of over 600,000 and an average of 270k viewers.

This is also the first time a Rocket League competition crossed the half-million mark, highlighting a strong start to the 2026 season.

Interestingly, this record was already broken during the Semi-final clash between NRG vs Team Vitality, which had a peak of around 521,000 viewers.

The Grand Final between Team Vitality vs Gentle Mates became the most-watched match of the RLCS Boston Major, with the latter finishing as the most watched-team at 2.5m hours. Gentle Mates defeated Team Vitality to lift its second RLCS trophy after winning the 2024 Major 1 in Copenhagen.

According to Esports Charts, English-speaking audiences were the main drivers behind the record-breaking viewership. That said, the Arabic and French broadcasts also crossed 100,000 concurrent viewers.

Along with the success recorded by RLCS Boston Major, Rocket League itself saw a sudden surge in player count, with the title surpassing 1m concurrent players for the first time in the past five years.

Focus Shifts to the Second RLCS Major of 2026

With the conclusion of the Boston Major, teams have started preparing for the RLCS Paris Major, scheduled to take place from May 20th to 24th. Similar to the first major of the season, the event will feature the top 20 Rocket League teams from around the world battling for the trophy and its $354,000 (~£262,145) prize pool.

In addition to this, organisations will earn RLCS Points that will count toward World Championship qualification. The RLCS Paris Major will be streamed live on Rocket League Esports’ official Twitch and YouTube channels, with tickets already available on the Ticketmaster website.

ESI Ranking System
We’ve created a ranking system to help you quickly know how good each gambling platform is. As gamblers ourselves, we know which factors matter most to you, so we follow a best-in-class methodology to test each one with no stone unturned. Once done, we then rank each platform based on the following tiers:
  • A-Tier High-quality sites that deliver a top experience every time. They boast strong performance, nice features, and reliable support, but are just shy of perfection.
  • B-Tier Solid platforms that are worth a spin. They’re safe, fun, and functional, but may be lacking advanced features or have minor drawbacks.
  • S-Tier Reserved for elite operators only. These go well beyond the norm with lucrative bonuses, rewarding promotions, lightning-fast payouts, and a flawless experience overall.
