Konami Digital Entertainment has announced a partnership with Gadsme focused on in-game advertising solutions.

As reported by game news site Gamesbeat, Gadsme will deliver in-game advertising to Konami’s mobile titles with possible expansion into esports.

Gadme’s Co-founder and CRO, Simon Spaull, commented: “This agreement reflects not only our shared vision of innovation and best-in-class products, but also the trust that industry leaders like KONAMI place in Gadsme to elevate their digital entertainment and esports businesses.”

Moreover, the company’s Vice President US, Donald Reilley, called the deal with Konami a “milestone” in his LinkedIn post.

“We’re entering a new era where in-game advertising is finally being done right,” emphasised Reilley. “This isn’t just about ad placements; it’s about creating meaningful brand experiences inside gameplay, without compromising the player journey.”

Founded in 2020, Gadsme offers in-game intrinsic advertising solutions for video games and metaverses. Its clickable display, video and audio ads aim to help companies reach target audiences while maintaining a non-intrusive player experience.

Gadsme has also launched a platform to monetise in-game ads. At the end of last year, the company opened its first US office, intending to expand within the country.

Konami and Esports

Gadsme’s new partner, Konami, is a Japanese multinational video game developer founded in 1969.

Throughout decades of gaming, the studio has published a plethora of titles such as the Silent Hill, Castlevania and Metal Gear Solid franchises, Dance Dance Revolution and Pro Evolution Soccer (eFootball).

Its mobile titles include MLB: Pro Spirit, Yu-Gi-Oh! Duel Links and Yu-Gi-Oh! Master Duel.

With competitive gaming and Konami both being rooted in the arcade gaming scene of the 1970s and 80s, Konami’s products have always been tied to and grown alongside the esports phenomenon.

Nowadays, the developer continues to strengthen its stake in the esports industry. In 2020, Konami joined the Global Esports Federation alongside fellow Japanese game publishers Capcom and Sega.

Furthermore, Konami became the official esports partner of football governing body FIFA last year to host two FIFAe World Cup competitions on its eFootball title.
