UK-based organisation Method has partnered with World Showdown of Esports (WSOE) to bring the Race To World First to World of Warcraft Classic.
The event will begin at 11pm BST on August 26th, featuring 24-hour coverage of over 20 streamers and 12 hosts as they race to kill raid bosses Ragnaros (Molton Core) and Onyxia (Onyxia’s Lair).
Method and WSOE will work alongside Estars Studios to produce a ‘multi-genre, multi-game tournament series’ from the PokerGo Studio in Las Vegas.
Christian Bishop, Commissioner of World Showdown of Esports spoke on the event in a statement: “The WSOE and Method partnership is a powerful combination to bring unforgettable action, nostalgia, and non-stop entertainment to the World of Warcraft community. We look forward to bringing the high-quality production value that WSOE is known for to this rising genre in gaming.”
The race itself will follow three key areas: levels one to 60, Molton Core, and Onyxia’s Lair. Molton Core is similar to what we’ve seen from Method’s other Race to World First events having multiple bosses, however, the raid will be much easier than what’s expected from new content in WoW.

Esports Insider says: Method has been killing it with WoW esports lately and this latest event is more proof that Method doesn’t plan to stop anytime soon. Unlike a normal Race to World First, this is multilayered and has a lot more variables in place. With a worldwide release and so many fans involved, you’d be hard-pressed to predict a winner.
