TL;DR

  • There are reportedly over 4,000 skins in Overwatch, ranging in rarity – Common, Rare, Epic, Legendary, and Mythic.
  • New skins are added every season or event, some in the Battle Pass and some in the Shop.
  • This list ranks the top 15 skins based on community sentiment, design quality, and standout features like custom SFX or animations.
  • Fan-favourites like Surf ‘n’ Splash Torbjörn bring a meme-worthy bang to Overwatch.
  • Mythic skins like Cyber Demon Genji and Amaterasu Kiriko offer players customisation with looks and colour palettes.

Given the sheer number of cosmetics available in-game, debating the best Overwatch skins has become commonplace. Blizzard has made various designs to get players to invest real cash into its free-to-play hero shooter, and, as of February 2026, there are well over 4,000 Overwatch skins, ranging from Common to Mythic in rarity.

Luckily, these skins don’t give those with the cash ‘pay-to-win’ advantages, and while some might make you easier to spot on the battlefield, the extra bit of customisation has proven to be a pro, not a con.

Whether your favourite Overwatch character is at the top of the hero tier list, an old classic, or a new face on the block, they can look good as they get shot at. From iconic designs to meme-worthy fan favourites, here are our 15 best skins in Overwatch.

15 best skins in Overwatch: Legendary, Epic, & Mythic

We have searched through Overwatch’s entire cosmetic library to create our list for the top 15 best skins in Overwatch, from epic event exclusives to mythics, trying to justify their high prices, looking at the unique style, humour, or personality they bring.

Our Overwatch skin tier list is based on a mix of community rankings from Reddit, the uniqueness of the idea and execution of that idea, and, of course, our opinions. Note that some skins are currently available and are as recent as Overwatch Season 1: Reign of Talon.

15. Bathmaster Zenyatta

  • Release date: November 21, 2023

While Zenyatta doesn’t get as much love in skins compared to the likes of Mercy, Juno, and Kiriko, he does have one of the funniest with Bathmaster Zenyatta. As a peaceful, zen character, and the bathtime routine known for its tranquillity, the character seems perfect for the theme. That, and replacing his orbs with rubber duckies, is hilarious.

A part of the humour comes from Zenyatta’s ever stoic face with a shower cap and a duck on top. Pair this with squeaks when firing and bubbling noises on a reload, and you get a brilliantly playful, yet simple skin for one of Overwatch’s OGs.

14. Galactic Emperor Sigma

Sigma's Galactic Emperor skin from Overwatch 2

  • Release date: April 11, 2023

While someone like Kiriko seems to get a skin every other week, Sigma still gets to shine with his Galactic Emperor Mythic skin. Despite not being a Street Fighter collaboration skin, there’s something very M.Bison about this skin, in the best way possible, making Sigma look royally dangerous and at his most threatening. He is meant to be Talon’s living weapon, after all.

As a Mythic skin, the Galactic Emperor cosmetic can be further customised, but more importantly than all of that is that Sigma finally has some shoes on. This skin makes the living weapon at his most regal and imposing.

Although he isn’t one of the more popular characters, especially in terms of skins, Sigma’s Galactic Emperor is one of the coolest Overwatch skins, period.

13. Sentai Genji

Sentai Genji Skin from Overwatch

  • Release date: May 23, 2017

The Sentai Genji skin has been around for a very long time, but it doesn’t make it any less iconic. Based on the masked heroes of Karmen Riders and Power Rangers (Super Sentai in Japan), it was added for Overwatch 1 as part of its anniversary updates. Pretty much every Genji main had this skin, spending as much time posing as getting kills, and it was a relief to see this skin return for what at the time was known as Overwatch 2.

As part of the Overwatch Anniversary Archives, this skin has stood the test of time, and while it doesn’t have the extra something of Mythic skins, it remains iconic. The red version, called Genjiman, also serves as a great alternative, but it’s hard to beat the original.

Genji’s colour is green, after all, and sometimes the classics remain the best, no matter how much time has passed. If you want to feel like a hero in your Overwatch games, you need not look any further than the Sentai Genji skin.

12. Surf ‘n’ Splash Torbjörn

Torbjörn in his Surf 'n' Splash skin from Overwatch 2 on a beach with a water turret, wearing swim trunks, flip-flops, and sunglasses.

Forget dad bod, there’s the Torb bod. The Overwatch community had long wished for a Torbjörn Summer skin to deck the iconic Swede in speedos for summer. Blizzard eventually delivered with the Surf ‘n’ Splash Torbjörn, released alongside the 2019 Summer Games event.

Ready for some fun in the sun, Torbjörn sports swim trunks, flip-flops, with his iconic turret transformed into a sandcastle bucket. Completing his beach-ready look, his trusty hammer is now an inflatable mallet that makes a hilarious squeaking sound effect on melee hits. It’s a lighthearted, fan-favourite skin that truly captures the chaos of Overwatch.

11. LESSERAFIM Collaboration

The LESSERAFIM x Overwatch skins quickly became fan faves, as the hero shooters’ first-ever collaboration with a K-pop group. Inspired by the group’s ‘Perfect Night’ song and tour, the band’s members are each represented by a corresponding character – Sombra, Tracer, Brigitte, D.Va, and Kiriko – blending modern streetwear with popular Overwatch heroes in trainers, cropped jackets, and dyed hair.

As an encore, the Overwatch x LESSERAFIM collaboration was relaunched in the Shop in 2025 to celebrate ‘Perfect Night’ reaching 100M views. The second time around included even more heroes dressed up in the LESSERAFIM style, like Juno, Mercy, Illari, and Ashe, as well as remixed recolours of the original five skins.

10. Witch Kiriko

Kiriko in her Witch skin from Overwatch 2, standing confidently with a broomstick in a haunted, purple-lit castle, surrounded by glowing teal magical petals swirling around her.

Hey look, another Kiriko skin. All joking aside, Blizzard’s special treatment has resulted in some well-made designs, and while Witch Kiriko isn’t the most unique, with Mercy having one beforehand, it is exceedingly popular. She is reimagined as a sorceress/fortune teller, wearing a typical conical witch hat.

Coming with the 2022 Halloween Terror event, this was one of the first event-specific skins during Overwatch 2’s run. Everything about Kiriko gets changed, from her healing ofudas to her voice lines reflecting her fortune-teller nature. Essentially, it takes what the Mercy Witch skin did and takes it to another level, giving Blizzard’s favourite one of the best Overwatch Legendary skins available.

9. Cozy Ashe Bundle

Ashe's Cozy Christmas themed skin from Overwatch 2

While it’s a bit out of season in February, the Cozy Ashe Bundle brings a delightful helping of festive goodness to a character that should probably be on the naughty list. The design has existed for a while, despite being new to Yule 2025, but when it finally came, players weren’t disappointed.

Ashe benefits somewhat from a two-for-one deal, since the skins change both her and Bob. Ashe is still wearing dark clothes, with fur and Yule ribbons, but Bob has gone full gingerbread man, wearing colourful red and blue clothing. The combination really is delightful.

While it will be some time before the skin is in season again, it certainly stands as one of the best skins for the holiday season.

8. Celestial Guardian Mercy

  • Release date: February 10, 2026

Many aren’t too happy that Mercy has got a second mythic skin, considering how many characters are yet to get their first, and while the anger is understandable, Celestial Guardian Mercy is both an incredible skin, with all the mythic trimmings, and perfect for Mercy as a character.

Mercy is meant to be the guardian angel, and the celestial, bright design of the skin suits this heavenly moniker. When she was first introduced in the original cinematic trailer, almost 10 years ago, she was portrayed as a heavenly figure, a ray of hope, and this skin exemplifies that well, providing a strong contrast to her more demonic Vengeance skin.

Of the two mythic skins in Mercy’s wardrobe, Celestial Guardian suits the character better, and while the Swiss’s special treatment is far from fair, it at least resulted in one of the coolest Overwatch skins available.

7. Bumblebee Bastion

Bastion's Bumblebee skin from Overwatch 2

  • Release date: July 9, 2025, available again

When a Transformers collab was announced, it was encouraging to see that the one Overwatch character who could actually transform got some love. While Bastion is yet to get a Mythic Skin, this Legendary Skin makes everyone’s favourite Omnic bird watcher the iconic Bumblebee, and the combination works very well. It helps that Bastion’s personality is somewhat similar to Bumblebee’s, given that both can’t speak with words and seem to be gentle souls.

The skin even turns Bastion into Bumblebee’s car mode, and even with the mini-gun on top, it feels like it could be an alternate design for one of the Transformers’ most iconic characters, yet still has enough of Bastion in the design to still feel like the same character.

6. Persona 5 Collection

  • Release date: September 16, 2025

The Overwatch collaboration with Persona 5 featured skins of characters from the game Persona 5 for five heroes from Overwatch. The skins released in the collab are as follows:

  • Joker Wuyang
  • Skull Genji
  • Panther Mercy
  • Fox Lifeweaver
  • Queen D.Va

The skins are all excellently designed and have been generally well received in terms of their look, and which heroes were chosen to receive them. The designs blend in well with each hero’s regular design, making them look accurate to their Persona 5 counterpart without taking away too much of what makes them who they are.

There are also some neat little touches here and there, such as Mercy’s roses on her wings and staff and the face on D.Va’s mech, mimicking the look of Makoto’s motorcycle Persona Johanna. Another unique feature that each of the skins has is a pink splash effect when each character moves, reflecting the same effects that the Perona 5 characters get when they are infiltrating a palace or are in Mementos.

These skins are a must for Persona 5 and Overwatch fans, though you might want to wait for them to reduce in price a bit. As of right now, they are pretty expensive, with the mega bundle costing more than $60.

5. Horang D.Va

  • Release date: June 24, 2025

D.Va finally got her own Mythic skin when Season 17 of Overwatch launched in June 2025. Her skin – Horang D.Va – is themed around the Siberian tiger, as this is the national animal of her home country of South Korea. Horang – or호랑 in Hangul –  is the Korean word for “tiger”.

As with the other Mythic skins in Overwatch 2, this is also a skin that can be customised thoroughly when all tiers are unlocked. D.Va’s colour palette changes drastically with these tiers, as do her hairstyles. She can also wear a tiger face mask when a certain tier is unlocked.

Tigers are thought of as brave guardians and protectors of the people in Korea, and this fits in well with D.Va’s role as a MEKA Guardian. The skin also leans into the mythological elements of tigers in South Korea, as the tiger is a significant figure in Korean mythology. The magical effects and general mythical nature of the skin (it is a Mythic-level rarity after all) play into this, giving D.Va’s mech the aesthetic of a mythical tiger protector.

Horang D.Va has some great effects too, such as glowing particles that emanate from her mech, along with tiger roar sounds when she takes damage. Another effect comes from D.Va’s self-destruct ability. When her mech explodes, a tiger face appears in the aftermath. The face is designed in the same art style as the portrayal of tigers in historical Joseon artwork, making for a fun historical reference and a cool change to the regular explosion animation.

4. Pink Mercy

Mercy in her Pink skin from Overwatch, wearing a sleek pink and white outfit with silver wings, holding her staff, with Breast Cancer Research Foundation and Overwatch logos visible in the corners.

The message behind Pink Mercy is as deserving of such a well-made design, decked in pink for the Breast Cancer Foundation campaign, being one of the few times the price of an expensive skin is justified. Around 800K players purchased the skin at the time, raising over $22 million for the charity. Mercy was the perfect skin for such a design, given her medic character, and the many pink ribbons suit her guardian angel aesthetic well.

It remains one of Overwatch’s most popular skins, even after eight years, and after years of petitions, the skin saw a return alongside the Rose Gold Mercy skin in mid-2024. Still, with all the good that this skin has done, which is in keeping with Mercy’s character, it has a special place in the heart of the Overwatch community.

3. Cyber Demon Genji

Genji in his Cyber Demon skin from Overwatch 2, standing in a futuristic city at night with a glowing green mask, dragon-themed armor, and a red katana, viewed from behind in a dramatic pose.

Although not the best Mythic skin by today’s standards, Cyber Demon Genji was the first of its kind – the debut Mythic-tier skin launched in Overwatch 2 Season 1. It set the blueprint for what all Mythic skins should be, featuring layered customisation options, unique SFX, and flashy animations. It made perfect sense to make the first Mythic for everyone’s favourite cybernetic ninja.

As a skin, Cyber Demon Genji raised the bar for cosmetic quality and gave players a taste of what the future of Overwatch skins could look like. While later Mythics have arguably surpassed it in complexity or theme, Cyber Demon Genji still gets respect for starting it all.

2. Amaterasu Kiriko

Kiriko in her Amaterasu skin from Overwatch 2, wearing an ornate gold and black outfit with glowing eyes, a radiant sun-like headdress, and mystical paper charms floating around her in a stylized celestial background.

Inspired by the Japanese sun goddess, Amaterasu Kiriko was released as the Season 3 Mythic skin, turning her into a radiant, divine force. This skin features flowing robes with sun motifs, paired with a radiant headpiece that evolves with three different customizable tiers.

The colour palette is also fully customisable, leaving players to choose between deep indigos, fiery reds, and golden hues to fit their mood. With unique visual effects on her healing talismans, custom SFX for her Swift Step and Suzu, skin-specific quotes, and revamped Kitsune Rush ultimate, it’s easily one of the most complete Mythics to date — divine and deadly.

1. Heart of Hope Juno

Juno in her Heart of Hope skin from Overwatch 2, wearing a pastel pink magical-girl outfit with playful shark-themed accessories, set against a glowing rainbow heart background with sparkles.

Very cute, very demure – part of the in-game Overwatch universe, DokiWatch, is Season 16’s Mythic skin,Heart of Hope Juno. Empowered by her shark familiar, the Heart of Hope Juno and the Dokiwatch squad battle against the Hollow Hearts to restore peace to the galaxy.

The Heart of Hope Juno Mythic has four evolving tiers reflecting her inner conflict between Light and Woe, unlocked with Mythic Prisms from the Battle Pass or Mythic Shop. These are:

  • Level 1 (Base)
  • Level 2 (Doki Princess)
  • Level 3 (Corrupted Evil)
  • Level 4 (Radiant Protector)

This skin is very girly-pop, with heart-shaped projectiles for her Pulsar Torpedoes and other fun elements with incredible attention to detail, with many players praising it as the “best Mythic in a long while.”
