46 countries represented in Overwatch MSI MGA 2016 Championship

After one month of feverish online registration, the Overwatch MSI MGA 2016 Online Qualifiers are now ready to kick off on October 4 in the Americas, followed by Europe (October 7) and Asia (October 10). overwatchmsi

The qualifiers will continue until October 11 with the Grand Finals, and a chance to win the lion’s share of a $75,000 (£57,000) prize pool, taking place at the Gfinity Arena in London. 

This is the first time that the MSI MGA will hold its Grand Finals in London. For those Overwatch fans unable to make it to the venue in Fulham Broadway the Regional Finals and Grand Finals will be broadcast live on Twitch by MSI. 

Teams and gamers from 46 countries will be taking part in what is a truly global tournament. Below are some of the teams that have been confirmed as competing:

Asia: ahq, Newbee, KongDoo, KongDoo-2, afreeca Freecs RED, DeToNator, etc.

Europe: REUNITED, Misfits, Ninjas in Pyjamas, Team Dignitas, ALTERNATE aTTaX, Team LDLC, melty eSport Club, k1ck esports club OW, GamersOrigin, No Heaven, Sydioda, Tropic Gaming, etc.

Americas: Cloud9, Team Liquid, Tempo Storm, Nocturns Gaming, compLexity Gaming, Elite Wolves, H2K Gaming OW, Rise Nation, Obey Alliance, SelflessGG, etc.

The overall victor stands to be rewarded with a $40,000 (£30,800) cash prize, whilst second place, third place, and fourth place will win $20,000 (£15,400), $10,000 (£7,700), and $5,000 (£3,800), respectively.
