Move over Dream Team. Forget Hang Time. An esports sitcom is on its way.

Youtube pair the Game Grumps (Arin “Egoraptor” Hanson and Dan Avidan) will star in the series created by Michele Morow and Jesse Cox. Moreover Dan Harmon, one of the creators behind Community and Rick and Morty, is involved in the production of the forthcoming series which’ll be aired on Youtube Red.

The as yet unnamed comedy (we welcome suggestions on Twitter) will be a six episode series with each clocking in at around the 30 minute mark. It’ll go out in 2017 on Youtube Red, which in case you’re unaware, is the site’s subscription service which costs $9.99 (£8) monthly.

The show is about five esports players who want to go professional but don’t know how. They’re up against the big orgs and the big sponsors and “have to figure it out”. Morrow said: “This is going to a very real look at the esports community.”

As Morrow and Cox state in the video above it’ll be about a made up game created by the pair of them, and they also revealed that the project has been in the works for a year and a half.

Esports Insider: Some comedy gold is much needed in the esports video circuit which can get a little serious. The involvement of Dan Harmon (as Cox himself states ‘Do we have something on him?) is a big win and should alone attract some viewers due to his past hits.

ESI Ranking System
We’ve created a ranking system to help you quickly know how good each gambling platform is. As gamblers ourselves, we know which factors matter most to you, so we follow a best-in-class methodology to test each one with no stone unturned. Once done, we then rank each platform based on the following tiers:
  • A-Tier High-quality sites that deliver a top experience every time. They boast strong performance, nice features, and reliable support, but are just shy of perfection.
  • B-Tier Solid platforms that are worth a spin. They’re safe, fun, and functional, but may be lacking advanced features or have minor drawbacks.
  • S-Tier Reserved for elite operators only. These go well beyond the norm with lucrative bonuses, rewarding promotions, lightning-fast payouts, and a flawless experience overall.
