Harry Hesketh, who won a tournament at West Ham’s London Stadium recently, also signed a new contract with the club. Hesketh became Hashtag’s first FIFA signing after he won the Spencer FC Game Academy Series.

Each of the new signings are performing well in FUT Champions and are well regarded on the competitive FIFA circuit. Lapanje said: “I am very happy to join Hashtag, along with one of the greatest players Tass, and the already well established Harry. I had some other options to join but this felt like the right career move for me. Spencer knows how esports and competitive FIFA works. I’m very happy to be here and be part of this journey.”

West Ham’s Sean ‘Dragonn’ Allen congratulated the pair on Twitter.

Club captain Spencer Owen said of the signings: “Ivan signing is a big statement from the club. He is one of the most respected names in the FIFA community. We’re very excited to see him represent Hashtag. As for Tass, he’s a veteran of the UK competitive scene and he’s still only 22 years old. We hope to achieve a lot together.”

Esports Insider says: Many were wondering when Tass and BorasLegend would be signed up to clubs. More and more are being cherry picked from the competitive FIFA scene, and as Lapanje revealed this was not the only offer he had on the table. It’ll be good to see Hashtag pushing on in the FIFA scene.
