In the biggest announcement of the week and year to date SK Gaming has announced that it has joined forces with Visa with the company becoming its Official Payment Partner.
Managing Director Alexander T. Müller stated: “We are more than proud that Visa chose us to enter the esports market. This partnership is truly a historic step for SK Gaming. For us this is a great start into 2017 and proves that all the hard work our players put in is getting recognised beyond just the gaming world.
“Visa has shown that they are committed to support the sports of the future. I am looking forward to some amazing events for our fans in the upcoming months and I am sure the new season will be even more successful than the last one.”

Visa has also shown its support to Formula E by way of sponsorship in recent times, and the crossover between these two is clear with an esports Formula E championship taking place in Las Vegas this weekend. SK’s CS:GO players Gabriel ‘FalleN’ Toledo and Epitacio ‘TACO’ de Melo as well as former SK Gaming racer Danny ‘Husky’ Engels will be in Vegas for CES attending events; there’ll be regular updates of their antics on the SK social channels.
Visa’s Executive Director of Marketing, Gary Twelvetree, commented: “Pro gaming has changed the way we see sport in recent years, opening access to people the world over and creating a surge in its popularity.
“We see huge potential for the industry and this deal sees Visa ideally placed to harness and drive that. We’re looking forward to a successful season supporting the next-gen athletes at SK Gaming to do what they do best – win.”
Esports Insider says: A huge partnership then to kick off what will be a year of Company X has become the ‘Official XYZ Partner’ of Team Y news stories.
