The news was revealed by ELEAGUE on their Twitter last week. They’re not exactly in poor company either. The other nominations are Games of the XXXI Olympiad (NBC), Mike & Mike (ESPN2), NFL Sunday – Super Bowl (FOX) and UEFA Euro 2016 (ESPN).

ELEAGUE is currently showcasing its first foray outside of Counter-Strike: Global Offensive, with Street Fighter V the game of choice. The feedback has been mixed – with some in the FGC community not taking particularly well to the more professional approach that is required for live television broadcast.

The last CS:GO event that the Atlanta based studio hosted was the Major which saw scintillating Counter-Strike and newly Audi sponsored Astralis taking home their first Major in what could yet be a period of sheer dominance. The Danish squad have since won IEM Katowice and many analysts are predicting further success for the roster.

Steve Ulrich, Senior Vice President of the Sports Emmy Awards commented: “It has been another outstanding year for the sports television industry and the quality of this year’s record number of entries continues to raise the bar of what sports programming can be”.

The awards will be held on May 9th at Jazz at Lincoln Center’s Frederick P. Rose Hall. There was a total of 41 categories across the awards, with Outstanding Live Sports Special, Live Sports Series and Playoff Coverage amongst those highlighted.

Esports Insider says: Congratulations to Turner & ELEAGUE as to be recognised in the category that they’re nominated in is a huge achievement. How many years will it be until Mr. Lewis takes home the Emmy for Outstanding Studio Host? Only time will tell.

ESI Ranking System
We’ve created a ranking system to help you quickly know how good each gambling platform is. As gamblers ourselves, we know which factors matter most to you, so we follow a best-in-class methodology to test each one with no stone unturned. Once done, we then rank each platform based on the following tiers:
  • A-Tier High-quality sites that deliver a top experience every time. They boast strong performance, nice features, and reliable support, but are just shy of perfection.
  • B-Tier Solid platforms that are worth a spin. They’re safe, fun, and functional, but may be lacking advanced features or have minor drawbacks.
  • S-Tier Reserved for elite operators only. These go well beyond the norm with lucrative bonuses, rewarding promotions, lightning-fast payouts, and a flawless experience overall.
