SK Gaming has penned a deal with a new sponsor with smartphone manufacturer Honor coming on board

This is Honor’s first entry into esports and also the first official smartphone partner for a team that we’ve heard of. Honor is a Huawei brand which was launched back in 2014.

Marco Eberlein, General Manager of Honor Germany stated: “The SK Gaming team demands the highest quality from the equipment they use, which makes the new Honor 8 Pro the perfect fit. Exciting gaming with amazing effects are now possible anytime with the high performance hardware and long battery life.”

The terms of the arrangement will include content, prize giveaways and appearances at events. Mobile esports is in a good place right now; there’s the ongoing rise of Vainglory and other mobile titles enjoying notable success such as Clash Royale which last night won the AMD Esports Audience Award at the BAFTA Game Awards. In addition other mobile game developers such as Critical Force have big plans for their FPS mobile title Critical Ops in regards to esports; this is a title which has already seen over ten million downloads.

Alexander T. Müller, Managing Director of SK Gaming said of the new partnership: “I am convinced that we have found the perfect partner for our mobile division in Honor. Honor work really closely with the community and are in constant communication with the fans, just like we do at SK Gaming. We are really excited to welcome Honor to our organization and we are happy to be by their side as they enter the world of esports.”

Esports Insider says: With the rise of mobile esports right now it makes sense for a team to establish an Official Smartphone Partner. SK Gaming announced its Vainglory roster for the year a few months back, and we now expect other teams with mobile esports players and teams to pick up similar deals to this one.

ESI Ranking System
We’ve created a ranking system to help you quickly know how good each gambling platform is. As gamblers ourselves, we know which factors matter most to you, so we follow a best-in-class methodology to test each one with no stone unturned. Once done, we then rank each platform based on the following tiers:
  • A-Tier High-quality sites that deliver a top experience every time. They boast strong performance, nice features, and reliable support, but are just shy of perfection.
  • B-Tier Solid platforms that are worth a spin. They’re safe, fun, and functional, but may be lacking advanced features or have minor drawbacks.
  • S-Tier Reserved for elite operators only. These go well beyond the norm with lucrative bonuses, rewarding promotions, lightning-fast payouts, and a flawless experience overall.
