The channel was initially launched on DStv’s on-the-go Now service in May but will be rolled out further when it becomes available on the satellite service. The 4 July launch will see Ginx available to DStv Premium, Extra and Compact customers in South Africa on channel 240.

Michiel Bakker, CEO of GINX Esports TV, commented: “GINX is committed to supporting esports culture worldwide. Our growing partnership with DStv is a fantastic opportunity to bring our unique view on the vibrant global esports scene to many more viewers in Africa. We can expect to see more and more esports content coming out of Africa this year and GINX is keen to play a key part in bringing that content to audiences in Africa and the rest of the world.”

Last month, GINX launched a raft of new original programming titles, building on its core lineup of live esports tournaments, studio discussion and on-location content. The content includes the daily show “The Daily Download” which covers topical news each day and the weekly show “The Bridge” where established guests discuss the last week in the wonderful world of esports. It’s available on UK satellite TV but is available for worldwide distribution.

The channel is available in over 45,000,000 households in 9 languages across over 80 territories. It offers news, entertainment and live event coverage.

Esports Insider says: Ginx continue their international expansion as they become more readily available in South Africa. Canada and South Africa… but where’s next for the team over at Ginx?

ESI Ranking System
We’ve created a ranking system to help you quickly know how good each gambling platform is. As gamblers ourselves, we know which factors matter most to you, so we follow a best-in-class methodology to test each one with no stone unturned. Once done, we then rank each platform based on the following tiers:
  • A-Tier High-quality sites that deliver a top experience every time. They boast strong performance, nice features, and reliable support, but are just shy of perfection.
  • B-Tier Solid platforms that are worth a spin. They’re safe, fun, and functional, but may be lacking advanced features or have minor drawbacks.
  • S-Tier Reserved for elite operators only. These go well beyond the norm with lucrative bonuses, rewarding promotions, lightning-fast payouts, and a flawless experience overall.
