Gleetz.gg secures investment from S.L. Benfica and launches team recruitment portal

Gleetz.gg, the  ‘professional social network for gaming and esports’ has recently been chosen as one of the best startups to join the KickUP Sports Accelerator in cooperation with the esteemed Portugese football club S.L. Benfica.

Gleetz becomes the only esports startup working with Benfica and thus is hoping to reap the rewards that being partnered with such a high profile football club can bring. The blog post states “whether it’s access to the stadium stands for interviews or esports strategy meetings, gleetz.gg is benefiting from the open environment – this is a real privilege”.

In other Gleetz news, they have now launched their companies and team portal page which facilitates recruitment – whether it be for a team or a position elsewhere.

Marc Berthold, Founder of Gleetz.gg told ESI: “The fact that an international and successful club such as S.L. Benfica decides to invest in gleetz.gg is a proof that we managed to show that our concept is meaningful. Many traditional sports club are investing in an esports team, but investing in a platform dedicated to helping the esports industry to grow as a whole is clearly a different story. And we are really happy about that. But more that the project, it also shows that they trust the team behind this project, our knowledge and expertise of the esports market which we acquired over the past 15 years.”

He continued: “S.L. Benfica is a powerful and international club, and we believe that they will be able to support gleetz.gg thanks to their experience. It is the club with the most members across the globe. They are used to managing fans and being a leader in their industry. This is exactly what we are doing with gleetz.gg. We are the 1st professional network 100% Gaming & esports which connects all the actors of the industry: fans, gamers, teams, companies and sponsors. We do not let anyone behind and we work hard to provide everyone with the best tools to enjoy their passion even more.”

Finally, Marc told ESI: “That is the reason why after releasing the dedicated team and company pages, which let these actors showcase their organisations and everything about them, we have launched just 2 days ago the recruitment platform thanks to which teams can now scout, receive applications and recruit talented players and coaches from all over the world. And since the user’s profile is built as an esports CV, it is much easier for recruiters and scouts to understand who the applicant really is and how valuable he can be to the team.”

Esports Insider says: Great news for Gleetz.gg securing investment from a club with the pedigree of Benfica. It’ll be interesting to see just how the platform continues its development going forward.
